Living $ Lean: Impoverished Know How!

You may have noticed that the economy is bad.

I have observed that the fear with most people it seems — as they vent about the cost of gas for their Escalade over five dollar lattes — is of a slight tightening of the wallet. I feel bad for those people because while they are worried and toss around words like recession on anxious sighs, they’re distressed over mere minor shifts in lifestyle.

Sadly the high gas prices and raising food costs are just a funny odor you can ignore, the dead cat in the wall has yet to be discovered. In other words if you think it’s bad now you haven’t really taken in the real stink of the situation.

With the largest National debt and Federal deficit in U.S. history, coupled with multiple ongoing wars and more on the way (In fact while writing this, the Senate right now – May 22nd 2008 – just approved another $165 billion for the Iraq war). Compound that with ridiculous tax cuts and rebates AND the fact that the American people in a time of war have continued a standard of living far beyond the financial means of the Country… you haven’t seen bad.

Things are gonna get worse. But the real problem is not the failing economy, the problem is that its been good for so long many people have forgotten how to live in lean times. Indeed there is an entire generation that has never known the concept of lack beyond occasional dropped cell phone calls or bad Direct TV reception.

But we’re not here to scare you, we’re here to help.

There are nearly 37 million Americans that survive in poverty every day of their lives. These people look at the coming economic crash as just another day without enough of everything. As Sylk Magazine’s poverty expert I’m going to teach you the secrets and techniques of these fiscal survivors. So that when the shit hits the fan, you don’t find yourself hunched over in the front yard of your foreclosed house, making a fire out of old newspaper to grill up your neighbors Pomeranian.

Maybe people won’t be eating their pets, but you know you need to cut back and save money and whether you like it or not you gotta do more than switch from Premium to Unleaded. NO it’s not going to be easy and YES you’re going to have to dramatically change your lifestyle. But if you voluntarily cut back now it’s going to be much easier on you later. It’s far easier to give something up than it is to have it taken away.

But don’t look at it as a lose, look at it as a growing experience. I think you will find that in time, many of the things you view as necessities are anything but. And who knows, by simplifying your life maybe you will discover a deeper meaning in all things… maybe not!

Regarless I’m going to show you how to stretch five dollars so far Abe Lincoln’s face will look like Sloth from the Goonies!
